Hi, I’m Gary Burger of Burger Law. When opioid manufacturers, huge billion dollar pharmaceutical companies make misrepresentations about the safety of their products and misrepresent the addictive nature and the appropriateness and safety of prescribing those drugs to treat long-term chronic pain, they should be held accountable for their actions.
A product manufacturer has to accurately represent its product and warn of its dangers. These requirements are both under the law, pharmaceutical regulations, and it’s basically what’s fair. Those pharmaceutical companies have not done these. They have made misrepresentations to Americans, to doctors, to the federal government about the addictive nature of these drugs, and the opioid epidemic is on the news everyday. It’s killing tens of thousands of Americans. Folks are becoming addicted and overdosing and dying because of these drugs. It’s inappropriate.
When a drug company’s misrepresentation unnecessarily causes the injury and death to tens of thousands of Americans, something has to be done. We’re here to fight them. My name’s Gary Burger, as I mentioned at Burger Law.
